The Louisiana Liar's

2:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2014

Community Center at 708 Main St. in Pineville, LA.

Admission is free for the audience and anyone who appreciates a good story is invited to attend.

The Louisiana Storytelling Association has sponsored the event for the past eleven years to celebrate the art telling a whopper so outrageous that the audience wants to believe it.

A maximum of eight tellers compete for three cash prizes and trophies ranging from $100 to $50.  Stories cannot contain profanity or vulgarity. Judges rank contestants on presentation, believability, humor, poise, keeping in the 5-10 minute time limit, and other criteria.  Contestants pay a $15 entry fee.

We also had some wonderful folksie songs by David Goodroe and Eric Johnson. The Black Lab's food was great and we look forward to our 2014 gathering.
